Our experience is that the wither moisture data entered into the factory daily record book is often fictional. While the NIR method (being instantaneous and non destructive) is undoubtedly the best tool for monitoring wither moisture, a less expensive option is the Thermo ray Infra Red Moisture Balance (Order Code TRY-01) or automated Quartz halogen Moisture Analyser (Code AMS -01)

  • Tea Moisture- high moisture is tea’s worst enemy, whether it’s due to poor firing or when picked up in the sorting room. Therefore an accurate and dependable moisture meter is undoubtedly the most important quality control instrument in the Tea Room.

MOISTURE MEASUREMENT
Moisture In Bulk Tea:

we have evaluated many systems claiming to give an instant reading for moisture of tea in bulk- but generally the quicker the reading the less accurate the result. The only equipment we feel happy to supply for bulk tea moisture measurement is the HYGROMER M11. This instrument works on the physical principle that the humidity of air between and around tea particles is directly related to the moisture of that tea. When inserted into bulk tea this spar probe instrument senses and displays the humidity within the bulk- which is easily converted to read tea moisture content. A rapid non-destructive testing method. Can be used for tea in bulk,in paper sacks ,and in chests. Very popular in packing warehouses.

MOISTURE MEASUREMENT
TEACRAFT SPEEDY 60/60 CAPACISTANCE MOISTURE METER-
A simple and rugged portable moisture meter. Virtually instant reading –gives a % moisture reading from made tea(in moisture range 0 to 30%) in just 7 seconds- result shown on large LCD required. Automatic operation with no sample weighing required. Non-destructive to tea sample . Works by measuring change in electrical capacitance due to presence of water . Moisture meter is temperature compensated so can measure ex-dyer tea is fully portable (battery operated) and is supplied complete with a strong carry case.

TEMPERATURE: DIGITAL THERMOMETER
The application of modern thermocouple technology now allows very accurate temperature measurement across a wide range of conditions. Our single or dual probe hand held portable units utilize K-type thermocouple probes (the food industry standard) and feature a strong ABS case.

NON CONTACT INFRARED THERMOMETER
A unique ultra compact design to slip in the pocket displays maximum, minimum, average and current temperatures. Easy to use, you simply aim the instrument, press the scan button and read the temperature immediately. Because no physical contact is necessary  ,the temperature of moving, rotating, hazardous and inaccessible objects can be measured instantly.
